I discovered henna when I was 12 years old. I loved art and was always admiring other people's tattoos. I thought it was beautiful to have a means to express art on the body without the lifelong commitment. Over the years, I learned how rich the culture and history behind mehndi is. It became even more special as I learned that there is significant symbolism behind certain designs, as well as the ritual of having the body art done at different celebratory times in one's life. I find great joy in keeping the tradition alive and accessible to everybody.
